In our previous statement[1], we spoke of a shameful incident during a meeting of the Board of the Pirate Parties International (PPI) that was staged by two delegates of the German Pirate Party (Piratenpartei Deutschland – PPDE) and the Russian Pirate Party’s delegate (PPRU) against then PPI chairwoman Ms. Florie Marie. 

Back then, we wrote that we believe this dirty war against Ms. Marie could not have been waged without the PPDE’s leadership knowing about it. The fact that the two PPDE “mutineers” remained in the party and, when the “undesirable” Ms. Marie resigned from the PPI and left the Pirate Movement altogether, they were upgraded in the next PPI Board is solid proof. They were rewarded for their little “putsch”: Sebastian “Bastian” Krone became PPI treasurer, while Utz became a regular member[2]. We also wrote that this is highly suspect and stand by our position. Unfortunately, it seems that behaviors like these are not a new phenomenon.

In 2015, Andrew Norton, one of the founders of the United States Pirate Party, had reported that, as early as 2010, the Pirate Movement had ended up being run by the Central European parties and especially the German one[3]. What he wrote was, and still is, true. Starting from the composition of the Board, at least one regular member was always from the PPDE[4]. Usually, at least two regular PPI Board members were from the PPDE. In 2024’s PPI Board line-up, four out of nine (!) regular members were from the PPDE, and of the three alternate members, one[2]. Furthermore, some PPI Board members seem to be there for… life. This chronic overrepresentation of the PPDE in the PPI’s Board gives it a hegemonic position that allows it to manhandle the Pirate Movement as it sees fit.

There are several ways it does this. Norton mentioned a few: the PPDE has always made sure the Board was made up of people it preferred; it chose the time and place of the meetings so that only certain national parties’ delegates could easily participate; they always made sure the agenda, especially for the General Assembly, was the one they wanted, ignoring or sidestepping other parties. The list of deviations from ethical party governance does not end here: he spoke openly of a combination of inaction, lack of transparency, lack of accountability, even lack of respect to the Statutes and basic principles of democratic functioning. He found himself having to compare the PPI with the British royal family: a bunch of useless figureheads that fight against every effort to change the stagnant status quo.

What he said is still true today. His judgment is ruthless, but fair. We could simply point to the disgraceful events at the 24-5-2023 Board meeting and be done with it. That this was allowed to happen, with its instigators being rewarded instead of disciplined at national and transnational level says a lot. But this is not the only symptom of the rot at the heart of the PPI.

Trapped in its obsession with remaining a single-issue movement and in the cage of the historically illiterate and shockingly similar to French fascist Jean-Marie Le Pen’s maxim that we are “neither left-wing nor right-wing” (a maxim that we in the Pirate Party of Greece have abandoned in our 11th Conference), the German-ruled PPI is absent from world events and has little to say about the things that trouble people today: rising cost of living, impoverishment, erosion of the rule of law, degradation of social services (health, social security, education), unemployment, loss of workplace protections, loss of labor rights, promotion of the “forever war” idea”, rise of the goose-stepping alt-right. At best, it has reduced itself to an empty shell that only discusses party finances and redistribution of Board roles. Its extremely few political interventions are, at best, vague, timid, vapid, and empty.

We, the Pirate Party of Greece, are stressing once again that we unequivocally denounce and condemn all kinds of “camarilla”, all behaviors that violate party Statutes, and every attempt to manhandle and manipulate the Pirate Movement and its institutions. Such practices have no place in our ideological space and we shall always oppose them, especially when these actions promote policies and ideas that go against the Pirate Ideology, which is, by nature, progressive, anti-fascist, anti-racist, anti-colonialist – “woke”, if you want to call it that. As far as we are concerned, with the recent amendments to our Statutes[5], which will be strengthened and enriched even more in the future, we are fortifying our party against the obscene practices we already mentioned, and are empowering our party’s instruments to properly and swiftly handle any such incident.

Furthermore, in our 11th Conference, with our new Statutes and the revision of our Founding Declaration, we address the ideological vagueness, the political vacuum, and the single-issue character of the Pirate Movement. We have strengthened and clarified our party’s progressive ideological identity and have removed any margin for nods to the far-right. Additionally we have started rewriting our political program, with our own ideas, ensuring that they have our Pirate Ideology at their core and present progressive proposals, aiming to improve life for the people. We intervene in the political scene, national and international, to the best of our ability, with frequent statements and Press releases. But we are not going to stop there. We are planning more actions and initiatives, which will be announced in due time. Finally, regarding the PPI, we are watching its internal developments very closely and with great worry. In time, and under full transparency, sincerity, and honesty, we will decide with our members upon our relationship with it.

Quo Vaditis, Piratae? – Part 1

In the minutes of the meeting of the Board of the Pirate Parties International (PPI) that was held on 24-5-2023 we see an attempted “coup” against its then chairwoman, Florie Marie, by a group of Board members[1]. The “stars” of this “coup” were regular member Alexander Isavnin (Pirate Party Russia – PPRU) and, from the Pirate Party Germany (Piratenpartei – PPDE), Mia Utz (alternate member at the time) and Sebastian “Bastian” Krone. Krone was upgraded to PPI treasurer, while Utz became a regular member of the Board[2]. 

We note and stress here that, in the context of the declared dedication of the Pirate Movement to transparency, the minutes of the meetings of the PPI’s collective instruments are public[3], as was the internet broadcast of the meeting. So, nobody can accuse us of “leaking internal information of the movement and making it look bad” or anything like that. Especially in the wake of the crushing defeat suffered by the European Pirate Party (PPEU) in the European Elections of 2024, we have a moral obligation to the friends and members of our party, and to all actual Pirates worldwide, to be honest about the reasons that led to these results and to not stay silent. What is written in the minutes is but a deplorable machination of the two PPDE delegates, together with their Russian counterpart, to publicly humiliate the elected chairwoman of the PPI. 

It goes without saying that the actions of Isavnin, Krone, and Utz would never be tolerated by any political project that respects itself, its members, and its supporters. All three would have been sent to the disciplinary instruments of the PPI and their national parties, with their dismissal being recommended. They violated all manner of ethics rule. They proved that they do not respect any of the values and principles of the Pirate Movement, that they do not respect the Pirates that watched the meeting live on the internet, that they do not care about how they humiliated the Movement, with its Board meeting becoming an arena of antidemocratic, abusive, harassing, intimidating behaviors. Let us not mince our words: all three of them acted like common thugs.

We must remind that Ms. Marie had been unjustifiably and arbitrarily by the neofascist “self-made” nepobaby Elon Musk’s platform Χ (formerly Twitter)[4], without ever having been given the slightest solidarity by her party, the Pirate Party France (Parti Pirate – PPFR). Eventually, she resigned and left the PPI, the PPFR, and the whole Pirate Movement on 9-12-2023, labeling the movement an “empty shell” and slamming her “comrades”‘ stance[5][6]. From the minutes, we conclude that each and every one of her words is absolutely true. Indeed, she was targeted and treated in an absolutely vulgar and obscene manner. We would have liked to believe that this dirty war against Ms. Marie was carried out without the PPDE’s leadership knowing, but we know full well this is out of the question. If Utz and Krone had acted all by themselves and against the wishes of their party’s leadership, they would have been ousted from both the PPDE and the PPI. Instead, they were upgraded. They were rewarded for their actions, which is highly suspect.

We, the Pirate Party of Greece, condemn unequivocally and in the strongest possible terms these vile machinations. If Ms. Marie was so widely disliked, then the disgruntled PPI Board members ought to have moved as per the Statutes. They did not. Sadly, this is not an isolated incident. On the contrary, the Pirte Movement has seen far too many backstabbings and intrigues all these years. To keep things manageable, we will talk in upcoming statements about persons, behaviors, and practices that devalued our movement, brought infamy to it, and led it to last year’s humiliating European Election results. It is our duty and responsibility to not hide anything under the rug.

On the 17th Council of the European Pirate Party

On the 23th and 24th of November 2024, the 17th Council of the European Pirate Party (PPEU) was organized in Prague. The collective that expresses and unites the glorious Pirate Movement, focusing on what really matters, decided to denounce the video game industry for its serial violation of Directives 93/13/EEC and 2011/83/EU: they abuse their position in their relationship with gamers by depriving them of access to the games they have bought, when they decide to stop supporting these games.

Exhibiting an impeccable sense of responsibility, the Council of the PPEU decided to defer discussion of a Resolution brought by the Pirate Party of Greece (PPGR) on the ongoing genocide in Gaza. After all, without a final verdict of a court of law, we cannot speak of genocide; this would violate Bibi’s presumption of innocence. Besides, such issues are too important for it to intervene hastily and under the influence of “tankies” and “far-left woke snowflakes”. Conversely, any discussion on the United Nations United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29). The PPEU cannot rush to issue climate-related statements! Before we do, we must listen to the totally reputable Visegrád24, which is now an essential news and information source for many European Pirates.

The European Pirate Party deserves all the praise and congratulations the political world can give. It tenaciously refsisted the voices of the “woke Social Justice Warriors” for a ceasefire in Gaza and for the recognition of Palestinians as human beings! It resisted the shrill “leftist snowflakes” that shriek about the climate, but in reality want the “Global North” to plant money trees for the lazy “Global South”! Additionally, in a move that is a prime example of true diligence and seriousness, it decided this time to not publish the minutes of the sessions immediately, but do it at a later, more convenient time. Finally, true to the purely computer nerd roots of the Pirate Movement, the PPEU fought for your inalienable right to continue playing Ubisoft’s “The Crew”, an all-important right about which no “mainstream” party dares talk, leaving the poor gamers at the mercy of the big video game publishers!

One might wonder why we describe the Council in such a sarcastic manner. We are afraid there is no other way to depict the pitiful reality of the PPEU. Clinging on to the historically illiterate axiom concerning the “obsolete Left-Center-Right axis” and to the dogma of an ill-conceived “political flexibility”, it has become now an apolitical entity, concerned only with organizational and administrative matters. So, the PPEU has withdrawn from any actual formulation and practice of politics, creating a political vacuum.

Within the context of this entity, the PPGR is now left as the sole Pirate Party that historically and consistently, in every Council it participates, submits concrete, concise, and clear political proposals, placing the other Pirate Parties before their responsibility to fill this political vacuum.

Within this framework, we Greek Pirates feel obliged to pursue the following course of action:

  • Promote the reinforcement of the political dialog and cooperation between interested member parties of the PPEU, focusing on the formulation of common political positions on international developments and truly important matters that emerge, such as the climate catastrophe, the state of lawlessness in international relations, the threat of a global nuclear holocaust, the planned, profit-driven degradation (enshittification) of all aspects of human activity, the threats to freedom of expression, and so on.
  • Contribute to the return of the Pirate Movement to the essence of its ideology.
  • Exert pressure to a fundamental overhaul of the procedures of the PPEU’s Council, aiming to place emphasis on the development and promotion of political positions and the strengthening of the Pirate Movement’s presence of the political and social scene.
  • Promote the strengthening of the communication and active participation of member parties in the decision-making process and the activities of the PPEU.

Πριν ακόμα από τις καταστροφικές για το Πειρατικό Κίνημα φετινές ευρωεκλογές διαβάζαμε στη Flaschenpost, την επίσημη ενημερωτική σελίδα του Κόμματος Πειρατών Γερμανίας (Piratenpartei Deutschland – PPDE), τις «αναλύσεις» του Politburo του κόμματος για διάφορα θέματα. Από τη γενοκτονία που διαπράττει το Ισραηλινό Απαρτχάιντ στη Γάζα (η οποία δεν υφίσταται για το PPDE, όπως δεν υφίστανται και οι διεθνείς οργανισμοί που την καταγγέλλουν, όταν δηλαδή τα στελέχη του δεν τους συκοφαντούν ως «ενεργούμενα της Χαμάς» και «φορείς υποστήριξης της τρομοκρατίας») μέχρι το «τις πταίει;» για τη συντριπτική αποτυχία τους, αλλά και του Ευρωπαϊκού Κόμματος Πειρατών (European Pirate Party – PPEU) στις Ευρωεκλογές. Κάθε άρθρο των στελεχών του PPDE διέλυε όλο και περισσότερο τις απορίες μας γι’ αυτή την συντριπτική κι ατιμωτική ήττα. Με τέτοιο στελεχιακό δυναμικό και με τέτοιες «φταίνε όλοι εκτός από μας» τοποθετήσεις, πάλι καλά να λένε που πήραν ακόμα κι αυτό το 0,50%.

Πέρασε τόσος καιρός από την καταβαράθρωση των Πειρατών στις Ευρωεκλογές και τα κομματικά στελέχη του PPDE ακόμα προσπαθούν να κάνουν «μασάζ» στο κοινό τους, αποδίδοντας την εξευτελιστική ήττα στους ανεπαρκείς οικονομικούς πόρους και στην ανεπαρκή αξιοποίησή τους. Το επίσημο αφήγημα είναι ότι δεν ήταν αρκετά ορατοί στο ίντερνετ και αλλού, στο ότι δεν είχαν καταφέρει να έχουν εκπροσώπους σε χώρους προσέλκυσης ψηφοφόρων και στο ότι «δεν είχαν χρόνο για ν’ ασχοληθούν με τα σόσιαλ»[1]. Τα διαβάσαμε κι απορήσαμε αν τα πιστεύουν οι ίδιοι που τα γράψανε, αν είναι εντελώς ανόητοι ή αν υποτιμούν τόσο πολύ τη νοημοσύνη των μελών και των ψηφοφόρων τους.

Αυτή η καταστροφή όμως φαινόταν από μακριά. Το καράβι πήγαινε πρόσω ολοταχώς κι όλο καμάρι για τα βράχια, που κανείς δεν τα’βλεπε κι ας ήταν εκεί, φωτισμένα από καθαρό, σκληρό, αλύπητο φως σαν του Αιγαίου, καταγεγραμμένα στο χάρτη κι επισημασμένα απ’το ραντάρ. Τέτοια ήταν η πίστη τους πως δεν είχαν κάνει τίποτα λάθος. Δεν είναι καθόλου τυχαίο ότι κανένας από τους υπεύθυνους χάραξης της πολιτικής του PPDE δεν ένιωσε την ανάγκη να κάνει την παραμικρή αυτοκριτική για την αποτυχία του κόμματος και του PPEU, αλλά όλο το PPDE λέει ουσιαστικά πως «ήταν βαρύς ο στίβος», ενώ το βάρος της αποτυχίας πάντα μετατοπιζόταν στους υποψηφίους.

Η αλήθεια όμως είναι ότι το PPDE είναι χρεοκοπημένο ιδεολογικά και ηθικά εδώ και χρόνια, κάτι που κανείς απ’την κομματική του νομενκλατούρα δεν πρόκειται να παραδεχτεί, μάλλον γιατί θεωρούν πως έχουν το αλάθητο. Η εμμονή τους στο ανιστόρητο δόγμα της αποφυγής συγκεκριμένου πολιτικού προσανατολισμού επέτρεψε και διευκόλυνε την είσοδο ακόμη και ακροδεξιών κι αρνητών του Ολοκαυτώματος[2]. Το 2017, μια ακόμα χρονιά που το PPDE συνέχιζε την εκλογική του κατρακύλα, σημειώθηκε διαρροή ψήφων προς το νεοναζιστικό μόρφωμα AfD[3]. Κανείς όμως δε φαίνεται να διερωτήθηκε τι δουλειά είχαν άτομα τέτοιων πεποιθήσεων σ’ ένα κόμμα Πειρατών και, φυσικά, κανείς δεν τους έδειξε έγκαιρα την πόρτα της εξόδου, πριν η παρουσία τους εξωθήσει υγιή μέλη και στελέχη σε φυγή. Οι πιο καλοπροαίρετοι παρατηρητές θα υπέθεταν ότι οι υπεύθυνοι του κόμματος φοβήθηκαν πως, αν τους έλεγαν «ναζί εδώ δε χωράνε», θα… τοποθετούνταν πάνω στον «ξεπερασμένο» άξονα Αριστερά-Κέντρο-Δεξιά και μάλιστα προς τα αριστερά, κάτι που για το PPDE και, δυστυχώς, για πολλά άλλα ευρωπαϊκά πειρατικά κόμματα αποτελεί «ανάθεμα».

Αναφερθήκαμε προηγουμένως στην πίστη του κομματικού μηχανισμού του PPDE ότι έχει το αλάθητο. Από πού προκύπτει αυτό; Κατ’αρχάς, από το γεγονός ότι, παρά τις απανωτές εκλογικές αποτυχίες του PPDE, δεν έχει υπάρξει ως τώρα η παραμικρή διάθεση για αυτοκριτική κι αναστοχασμό της πολιτικής κατεύθυνσης του κόμματος. Ναι, έχουν γίνει ανασχηματισμοί στο Ομοσπονδιακό Εκτελεστικό Συμβούλιο (Bundesvorstand), που αντιστοιχεί στη δική μας Διοικούσα Επιτροπή. Άλλαξαν και πολιτικοί διευθυντές κι αναπληρωτές πολιτικοί διευθυντές. Αυτό που δεν άλλαξε όμως ήταν το δόγμα του κόμματος – κι αν άλλαξε, αν κρίνουμε από τα alt-right, anti-woke, ρατσιστικά παραληρήματα ατόμων όπως ο Μαξ Κεμ (Max Kehm) κι ο Γιάν Σίκαρς (Jan Sicars), η αλλαγή ήταν προς το πολύ χειρότερο.

Όταν ένα κόμμα που ισχυρίζεται πως υποστηρίζει τα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα και πολεμά τη διαφθορά δέχεται να βγαίνουν στελέχη του και να υποστηρίζουν τη γενοκτονία των Παλαιστινίων από το διεφθαρμένο, νεοφασιστικό ισραηλινό απαρτχάιντ, αυτόματα εξάγεται το συμπέρασμα πως η υποτιθέμενη αντίθεσή του προς τη διαφθορά και τις παραβιάσεις ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων είναι κίβδηλη: για το PPDE υπάρχουν κυβερνήσεις και κράτη που επιτρέπεται να τσαλαπατάνε το Διεθνές Δίκαιο, να σφάζουν και να βασανίζουν ανθρώπους, να κάνουν κουρελόχαρτο το κράτος δικαίου, να είναι διεφθαρμένα και να στηρίζουν τη διαφθορά και την καταπάτηση των ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων σε άλλα κράτη (π.χ. με τις εξαγωγές κατασκοπευτικού-εκβιαστικού λογισμικού σαν το Predator). Για να μην πούμε τίποτα για την υποστήριξη στελεχών του προς την anti-woke, σεξιστική, ρατσιστική, φασιστική ρητορική και ατζέντα «προσωπικοτήτων» όπως ο Καναδός ιεροκήρυκας του σεξισμού και ξεπλένης της μισογυνικής τρομοκρατίας Τζόρνταν Πίτερσον (Jordan Peterson), ο νεοφασίστας Πρόεδρος της Αργεντινής Χαβιέ Μιλέι (Javier Milei) κ.α. Αν το PPDE όντως ήταν προοδευτικό κόμμα, τα στελέχη αυτά θα είχαν αποπεμφθεί αυτοστιγμεί. Κάτι τέτοιο όμως δεν έγινε και δεν πρόκειται να γίνει.

Αλλά τι συζητάμε; Εδώ μιλάμε για ένα κόμμα που αποπειράθηκε να κουκουλώσει άγαρμπα και αποτυχημένα ένα τεράστιο σκάνδαλο σεξουαλικών παρενοχλήσεων με επίκεντρο και δράστη τον υποψήφιό του Ζιλ Μπορντελαί (Gilles Bordelais). Αυτή η άθλια υπόθεση εξώθησε σε παραίτηση τον Φέλιξ Ρέντα (Felix Reda)[4][5], το ικανότερο στέλεχος που πέρασε ποτέ από οποιοδήποτε κόμμα Πειρατών. Η προσπάθεια να υποβαθμιστεί το ζήτημα με το επιχείρημα «εντάξει, δεν έγινε και τίποτα που δεν κινηθήκαμε να τον βγάλουμε τον Μπορντελαί από το ψηφοδέλτιο, αφού τα δημοσκοπικά δεδομένα έδειχναν ότι έτσι κι αλλιώς δεν είχε πολλές πιθανότητες να εκλεγεί»[6] είναι επιεικώς γελοία και προσβλητικά για τη νοημοσύνη μας. Απορούμε δε με τον Πάτρικ Μπράιερ (Patrick Breyer), που, αναλαμβάνοντας να δημοσιεύσει με την υπογραφή του αυτή την ανακοίνωση για να προασπίσει την τρωθείσα τιμή του κόμματος, υποβίβασε εαυτόν σε «αυτοφωράκια» ενός φαύλου κομματικού μηχανισμού που έπρεπε να είχε ξηλωθεί σύσσωμος προ πολλού.

Όμως, το δυσώδες σκάνδαλο Μπορντελαί ήταν απλά η συνέχεια ενός άλλου σκανδάλου, ακόμα πιο φρικιαστικού. Το 2016, το PPDE συγκλονίστηκε από την υπόθεση του βουλευτή Γκέρβαλντ Κλάους-Μπρούνερ (Gerwald Claus-Brunner)[7]. Ο Κλάους-Μπρούνερ ήταν ένας εξαιρετικά τοξικός άνθρωπος, που συμπεριφερόταν βάναυσα και χυδαία ακόμα και μέσα στο κόμμα, ξέρναγε μισογυνισμό[8] και μάλιστα οι συνάδελφοί του στο PPDE είχαν φέρει πρόταση για την αποπομπή του. Αυτή η πρόταση τελικά καταψηφίστηκε, παρόλο που η χυδαία του συμπεριφορά θα έπρεπε να είχε οδηγήσει στην αποπομπή του με συνοπτικές διαδικασίες[9]. Τα πράγματα όμως έμελλε να πάρουν μια ακόμα πιο αποτρόπαιη τροπή: στις 19 Σεπτεμβρίου 2016, την επομένη των – καταστροφικών για το PPDE – εκλογών στο ομόσπονδο κρατίδιο του Βερολίνου, ο Κλάους-Μπρούνερ βρέθηκε νεκρός. Είχε αυτοκτονήσει, αφού όμως πρώτα είχε δολοφονήσει έναν 29χρονο άνδρα τον οποίο παρενοχλούσε για καιρό. Το θύμα του είχε καταγγείλει στις αρχές τη διαρκή παρενόχλησή του από τον Κλάους-Μπρούνερ, αλλά χωρίς αποτέλεσμα[10].

Είναι απορίας άξιο το πώς κατάφερε το PPDE να πετύχει αυτά τα σκάνδαλα να μην επηρεάσουν τη θέση του εντός της Διεθνούς των Πειρατικών Κομμάτων (Pirate Parties International – PPI) και να μην το εξαφανίσουν οριστικά. Δυσκολευόμαστε πολύ να φανταστούμε πώς ένας αξιοπρεπής άνθρωπος θα διάλεγε, μετά απ’ αυτές τις δυο βρωμερές υποθέσεις, να παραμείνει σ’ ένα κόμμα που δεν έκανε τίποτα για ν’ αποτρέψει τα χειρότερα, αλλά απλά προσπάθησε να τα «κουκουλώσει». Ακόμα περισσότερο όμως μας κάνει εντύπωση το πώς συνεχίστηκε η επιτυχία της πολυετούς του εκστρατείας για να κυριαρχήσει στο PPI και να επιβάλει τη δική του ατζέντα στο Κίνημα[11]. Όπως περιγράφει ο εκ των συνιδρυτών του Κόμματος Πειρατών ΗΠΑ Άντριου Νόρτον (Andrew Norton)[13], αυτή η εκστρατεία είχε ξεκινήσει ήδη από το 2010 και ήδη από τότε είχαν φανεί πολλά κακώς κείμενα.

Αυτά κλιμακώθηκαν και κορυφώθηκαν με τα έκτροπα της 24/5/2023, που προκάλεσαν δυο εκ των εκπροσώπων του PPDE σε συνέλευση του ΔΣ του PPI, στα πλαίσια του «ιερού πολέμου» που διεξαγόταν από αυτό κατά της τότε Προέδρου του PPI, κας. Φλορί Μαρί (Florie Marie)[12]. Όπως ήδη αναφέραμε, η επιβράβευση των κ.κ. Κρόνε (Sebastian Krone) και Ουτς (Mia Utz) για τη σκαιότατη κι αντικαταστατική συμπεριφορά τους, σε συνδυασμό με τα προηγούμενα σκάνδαλα, δημιουργεί πολλές υποψίες για την ηθική υπόσταση ολόκληρου του κομματικού μηχανισμού του PPDE. Αυτές οι υποψίες γίνονται ακόμα πιο έντονες και βάσιμες αν αναλογιστούμε την alt-right στροφή του κόμματος, τη φανερά ρατσιστική στάση του απέναντι στο λαό της παρανόμως κατεχόμενης Παλαιστίνης και την απόλυτα συνδεόμενη με τη γενοκτονία στη Γάζα περιφρόνησή του προς τα Ηνωμένα Έθνη, το Διεθνές Δικαστήριο της Χάγης και το Διεθνές Ποινικό Δικαστήριο. Κι όμως, επί τουλάχιστον δεκατέσσερα έτη ο μηχανισμός του PPDE είχε αφεθεί να «λύνει και να δένει» εντός του PPI και του PPEU, χωρίς – κατά τα φαινόμενα – κανείς να θορυβείται. Γιατί όμως;

Η αλήθεια είναι ότι ορισμένες επιτυχίες του PPDE το βοήθησαν να αναδειχτεί σε ηγετική δύναμη στο χώρο. Το βοήθησαν πολύ η στενή συνεργασία με το EDRi (European Digital Rights) και το Netzpolitik, η συμβολή του στην ανάδειξη της υπόθεσης Schrems II κι ο προδομένος αγώνας κατά των άρθρων 15 (πρώην 11) και 17 (πρώην 13) της ενωσιακής Οδηγίας 2019/790 για τα πνευματικά δικαιώματα. Στο μεταξύ, και μέχρι το κρίσιμο χρονικό διάστημα (τελευταίο τρίμηνο του 2018 και πρώτο τρίμηνο του 2019), λίγα εθνικά πειρατικά κόμματα είχαν απομείνει ενεργά για να συμβάλουν στο έργο του Πειρατικού Κινήματος. Δεν είναι της παρούσης να εξετάσουμε για ποιους λόγους αρκετά εθνικά πειρατικά κόμματα παρήκμασαν, αποστελεχώθηκαν κι αδράνησαν. Γεγονός είναι ότι το PPDE, υποβοηθούμενο κι από τη σχετικά γενναιόδωρη νομοθεσία της Γερμανίας ως προς την κρατική χρηματοδότηση των πολιτικών κομμάτων, διατηρούσε ένα ισχυρό momentum κι ένα εκτενές δίκτυο γραφείων, ιστοσελίδων και υποδομών που του επιτρέπουν να οργανώνει δράσεις, να στρατολογεί στελέχη κι έτσι να αποφεύγει – ή να καθυστερεί – την τελειωτική κατάρρευση. Αυτό, παρά το γεγονός ότι ήδη από το 2015 βρισκόταν σε αποδρομή, με το 2017 να σηματοδοτεί την – οριστική, όπως όλα δείχνουν – έξοδό του από κάθε κοινοβουλευτική εκπροσώπηση στη Γερμανία.

Πιθανώς πολλοί Πειρατές εκτός Γερμανίας, βλέποντας τα εθνικά τους κόμματα να παρακμάζουν και να καταρρέουν, εναπόθεσαν τις ελπίδες τους στους Γερμανούς ομολόγους τους. Αν γίνουμε λίγο πιο αυστηροί, εδώ μπορούμε να διακρίνουμε μια στάση παραίτησης και ανάθεσης: αντί να αναλάβουν οι ίδιοι να ξαναστήσουν τα κόμματά τους, περίμεναν από τους Γερμανούς να τους εκπροσωπήσουν. Αυτό είναι κατανοητό από ορισμένες απόψεις: από όλα τα εθνικά κόμματα Πειρατών, μονάχα αυτά της Γερμανίας και της Τσεχίας είχαν συνεπείς, σταθερές εκστρατείες για το Ευρωκοινοβούλιο, από το οποίο τελικά, στο τελικό στάδιο της Συνήθους Νομοθετικής Διαδικασίας της Ε.Ε., εκπορεύονται όλοι οι ενωσιακοί νόμοι που ορίζουν τις ζωές μας. Είναι πιθανό πως σκέφτηκαν έτσι και γι’ αυτό προτίμησαν να στηρίξουν αυτά τα δυο κόμματα, αντί να εμπλακούν σε διαδικασίες αναδιοργάνωσης κι αναδιάρθρωσης των εθνικών τους κομμάτων. Γιατί όμως δεν ασχολήθηκαν με τα δικά τους εθνικά κόμματα; Μπορούμε να κάνουμε με σχετική ασφάλεια ορισμένες υποθέσεις. Ενδεχομένως κάποια κόμματα να «νόθευσαν» το ιδεολογικό και πολιτικό τους προφίλ μέσω συνεργασιών με αταίριαστους πολιτικούς σχηματισμούς ή μέσω ανάδειξης ανάξιων στελεχών κι έτσι να απογοήτευσαν τη βάση τους. Κάποια άλλα κόμματα μπορεί να βρέθηκαν στα χέρια ηγεμονικών ομάδων που τα εκμεταλλεύτηκαν για τις προσωπικές τους επιδιώξεις, χωρίς να λογαριάζουν το ίδιο το κόμμα. Και ούτω καθεξής.

Έτσι, πολλά εθνικά πειρατικά κόμματα απαξιώθηκαν κι αδράνησαν και το PPDE μπροστά τους έμοιαζε με φάρο μέσα στη θύελλα. Όμως, δε μπορεί κανείς να βασίζεται σε παλιές «δόξες» για πάντα. Ούτε μπορεί να βρίσκει για πάντα συγχωροχάρτι για τα πάντα σ’ αυτές. Γεγονός είναι ότι τα προαναφερθέντα σκάνδαλα, ο εναγκαλισμός του με την alt-right και την «anti-woke» σηπτική δεξαμενή, καθώς και η ύποπτα άκριτη υποστήριξή του προς το εγκληματικό καθεστώς απαρτχάιντ του Ισραήλ, που δημιουργούν για το PPDE μια εξαιρετικά άσχημη εικόνα που δεν εξωραΐζεται πλέον με τίποτα. Εν ολίγοις, οποιοσδήποτε άνθρωπος με στοιχειώδεις αρχές ανθρωπιάς, δημοκρατικότητας κι αξιοπρέπειας θα έλεγε πως το PPDE στερείται πλέον ηθικής νομιμοποίησης όχι απλά για να ηγηθεί του Πειρατικού Κινήματος, αλλά ακόμα και για να κουνάει το δάχτυλο για το ποιο κόμμα δικαιούται να λέει ότι είναι Πειρατικό και ποιο όχι. Κι όμως, όπως είδαμε στο ΔΣ του PPI, επιδεικνύοντας απόλυτο αμοραλισμό, πλήρη έλλειψη σεβασμού προς θεσμούς, όργανα και διαδικασίες και πλήρη έλλειψη αυτογνωσίας κι αυτεπίγνωσης, απαιτεί να κηδεμονεύει τον ιδεολογικό μας χώρο με κάθε μέσο – θεσμικό ή μη, θεμιτό ή αθέμιτο.

Είναι όμως άδικη η επαναφορά στην κοινή μνήμη των σκανδάλων Κλάους-Μπρούνερ και Μπορντελαί μετά από τόσον καιρό; Όχι. Δυστυχώς, η στάση του PPDE απέναντι στα μέλη και τα στελέχη του που διαμαρτυρήθηκαν για τη συμπεριφορά και το μισογυνισμό του Κλάους-Μπρούνερ δείχνει συστημικό μισογυνισμό, δείχνει ότι το κόμμα δεν επιθυμούσε να ελέγξει το βουλευτή του όχι μόνο γιατί ήταν το «πρόσωπό» του προς τα έξω, αλλά κυρίως γιατί τα παράπονα προέρχονταν από γυναίκες. Ξέρουμε πάρα πολύ καλά κι από πρώτο χέρι πώς αντιμετωπίζονται οι γυναίκες στο χώρο της Πληροφορικής. Στα ίδια ακριβώς συμπεράσματα μας οδηγεί και η εργώδης προσπάθεια του κομματικού μηχανισμού του PPDE για να καθυστερήσει και να σαμποτάρει κάθε ενέργεια για την απομάκρυνση του Μπορντελαί. Η σκαιότατη και σεξιστική συμπεριφορά των αντιπροσώπων του PPDE απέναντι στην κα Μαρί εντός του PPI μας κάνει να πιστεύουμε ότι τίποτα δεν άλλαξε από τότε. Αντίθετα, είδαμε στελέχη του PPDE, με αφορμή – ή ευκαιρία – την άνευ όρων και άκριτη στήριξη του κομματικού μηχανισμού στα εγκλήματα κατά της ανθρωπότητας που διαπράττει το ισραηλινό καθεστώς απαρτχάιντ κατά των Παλαιστινίων, να συμπληρώνουν τα ρατσιστικά τους παραληρήματα με ύβρεις για το φεμινιστικό και το ΛΟΑΤΚΙ+ κίνημα και μάλιστα, όπως αναφέραμε και προηγουμένως, με συνθηματολογία και λεξιλόγιο βγαλμένο κατευθείαν απ’ τη σηπτική δεξαμενή της alt-right.

Ως Κόμμα Πειρατών Ελλάδας, σ’ αυτα τα φαινόμενα που καταγράψαμε βλέπουμε όλα τα συμπτώματα μιας γάγγραινας μέσα στο PPDE. Ως τώρα, δεν έχουμε ενδείξεις ότι υπάρχει βούληση εκ μέρους της ηγεσίας του, σε εθνικό ή τοπικό επίπεδο, για την αναγνώριση κι αντιμετώπισή της. Αντίθετα, βλέπουμε στελέχη του να προσβάλλουν τη νοημοσύνη μας για να δικαιολογήσουν τα αδικαιολόγητα, να συμπεριφέρονται με απίστευτη αλαζονεία και να φτάνουν ακόμα και στο σημείο να συκοφαντούν λαούς ολόκληρους. Βλέπουμε την – όποια – παλιά «δόξα» του PPDE να εργαλειοποιείται για να του δοθεί συγχωροχάρτι και για να νομιμοποιηθεί η παράταση της ηγεμονίας του στο Πειρατικό Κίνημα. Όμως, το PPDE, με αποκλειστική ευθύνη του κομματικού του μηχανισμού, έχει πλέον απολέσει κάθε ηθική ή πολιτική νομιμοποίηση να ομιλεί εξ ονόματός μας, να ερμηνεύει την Πειρατική Ιδεολογία ή να νουθετεί άλλα πειρατικά κόμματα αναφορικά με το ποιο κόμμα δικαιούται να λέγεται «πειρατικό» και ποιο όχι. Τουναντίον, έχει καταστεί βαρίδι για όλο το Πειρατικό Κίνημα. Η παρατεινόμενη, δε, ποδηγέτηση του Πειρατικού Κινήματος από αυτό οδηγεί το ίδιο το κίνημα σε ιδεολογικό και ηθικό εκτροχιασμό, σε δημοσκοπικό αφανισμό και το θέτει σε πολύ σοβαρό υπαρξιακό κίνδυνο.
