We would like to thank our members and friends who participated in our party’s 13th Congress, which took place on 18th January 2026.
Improvements, Additions, and Corrections to the Party Statutes
We moved to further strengthen our Statutes, further emphasizing the direct democratic character of our party’s procedures and making our call for the implementation of direct and participatory democracy in the functioning of local government and the state in general more prominent. Furthermore:
- We amended the provisions for the functioning and structure of our party’s youth wing so that, when it is re-established, its action and functioning will reflect the party’s principles.
- The term of office of the Governing Board and the Arbitration and Ethics Committee is now four years.
- In Article 33 (formerly 32) “Miscellaneous Provisions”, we have added paragraphs that define the procedure for conducting votes within the party.
- We have clarified, also based on the existing legislation, matters related to the party’s sources of funding.
- The new Statutes are currently being translated to English and will be uploaded in the relevant section soon. For now, you can read the Greek text here.
Policy on Spyware
The party decided to draft a position paper on spyware based on the relevant position paper by EDRi.
Framework for Cooperation with Other Parties
The party decided to put together a relevant framework, which will be based on the Rethymno Declaration, and will be communicated to parties, political entities, and independent active citizens and politicians of the broader progressive side of the political spectrum, in order to examine possible partnerships and cooperations.
Election of 7th Governing Board and Arbitration and Ethics Committee
The 7th Governing Board and Arbitration and Ethics Committee of the party were elected, according to articles 17 and 16 of the Statutes that were in force until the day of the Congress, but this time their terms are four years.

Any Other Business (AOBs)
The members of the PPGR discussed in great detail the protracted ideological drift of the European Pirate Party (PPEU) and the Pirate Parties International (PPI) from the declared values and principles of the Pirate Movement, as well as suspect “scientific” relations of high-ranking PPI officers with “non-government organizations” that promote apartheid, illegal settlements in the West Bank, the idea of a state built on ethnoreligious supremacy, and bigotry.
It is the longstanding position of the PPGR that such individuals have no place in the Pirate Movement, much less leading pirate parties; even worse, leading supranational and transnational bodies that are supposed to represent pirate parties around the world. In light of this, the members PPGR agreed that it has been confirmed once again – for the umpteenth time – that these two bodies have lost any moral and ideological legitimacy.
